Who We Are.

FRODO was founded by a team of engineers and innovators from the University of Toronto in Canada, united by a single purpose: to change the way the world thinks about difficult-to-handle oily water treatment. Our award-winning team brings together expertise in mechanical design, polymer science, and environmental systems—but more importantly, we bring a shared passion for creating something truly game-changing.

Led by pioneers in sustainable water-energy technology, including Dr. Amy Bilton and Dr. Nitish Sarker, polymer specialist Puwaner Guo, and fabrication expert Calvin Rieder, we are pushing boundaries—driven by the belief that oil industries can operate with greater efficiency, and with greater care for the world around them.

The oil and gas industry generates over 150 billion liters of produced water annually—much of it contaminated with fine droplets of emulsified residual oil that standard treatments fail to fully remove.
